Overview

A masterclass is a learning experience where emerging practitioners step into the room with a master of their craft—not just to absorb theory, but to witness mastery in action and refine their own skills through direct, high-level feedback. This Transformative Innovation Masterclass follows that tradition, bringing together entrepreneurs and professionals who are ready to put the final touch on their future-focused ideas.

Unlike a typical innovation workshop, this masterclass is not about starting from zero or brainstorming possibilities. Participants arrive with a developed idea, vision, or early concept shaped by futures thinking. The role of the masterclass is to elevate that idea to a higher level of clarity, precision, and impact, under the guidance of an expert in futures-led innovation.

In practice, this means each participant shares their work-in-progress concept, receiving real-time critique, strategic foresight insights, and reframing techniques. The master challenges assumptions, illuminates overlooked opportunities, and demonstrates advanced methods for shaping ideas that can thrive in uncertain, rapidly evolving contexts. Other participants gain just as much by observing this process—learning not only from their own session but from the master’s interaction with peers.

The goal is not simply to teach but to demonstrate innovation craftsmanship at its highest level: how foresight can be transformed into robust, actionable, and compelling ventures. By the end, participants leave with sharper ideas, a stronger narrative, and a heightened sense of what “radical innovation” truly means.

Inspired by learning modes in the musical arts, master classes serve gifted and experienced practioners in furthering their existing base of practical knowledge. This transdisciplinary format brings together entrepeneurs, scientists, designers, educators, and technologists with futures practitioners, systems thinkers, and speculative designers. Ideally, participants arrive with prior practical exposure, agnostic of the discipline, and intense intellectual curiousity in order to equally contribute and receive most out of this learning format. In order to achieve a high standard of study, learners will need to feel comfortable with reading texts, and minimal individual preperatory works prior to the session. This not only increases the quality of, and time-spent in, the masterclass itself – it also makes this format more accessible to other participants.
